New resort has been built in U.S. recently

Vail Resorts Mountain Division co-president Roger McCarthy said: “There hasn’t been a resort built in this country in 25 years since Beaver Creek.” (SDN, April 4). Roger must have forgotten about the new Tamarack Resort, just north of Boise, Idaho ( $1.5 Billion resort and village opened in 2005, and was built with Intrawest’s involvement. Tamarack has been called “Steamboat West,” with its 2,800 vertical feet receiving about 300 inches of annual snowfall.
