New Starbucks for Safeway dismays anti-Starbucks coffee drinker

I read with dismay that the Frisco Safeway store plans to open a Starbucks cafe. Many people, including myself, find Starbucks coffee is an unpleasant, over-roasted, burnt-smelling excuse for traditional coffee most Americans enjoy.

Apparently, the Starbucks success lies in groupie followers who must be trendy in any circumstance.

Should that smoky smell permeate the air in the nearby produce department, contaminating the fruits and vegetables, I will be obliged to add the Frisco Safeway store to my present list of places to avoid that serve Starbucks coffee.

It is gratifying to note that the town of Silverthorne, though seeking a coffee shop to occupy a vacant space in its new town pavilion, has chosen not to succumb to the “Proud to Serve” hoopla.
