Nick and Norahs Infinite Playlist with rising star Michael Cera and the girl from Charlie Bartlett Kat Dennings make just about the perfect screen couple. Their performances may not add a lot of range to their acting careers, but the match itself makes up for any lack of originality in their respective characters.Nick is a member of an all-gay (except for him) rock band. He is struggling to get over his perfect ex-girlfriend (Tris, played by Alexis Dziena), sending her mixed tapes she promptly discards. Norah attends the same all-girls school as Nicks ex, but doesnt yet know who he is, except through his music. At a night on the town in New York City and the surrounding area, Nick and Norahs paths cross for an instant connection.Yes, its a film about teen angst mainly among the girls and insecurities but there is also something very mature about the story. With the exception of the girls school, these characters easily could have been 20-somethings (which probably would have made more sense) or 30-somethings. Its likely Ceras subtle style that does this, but also the staying out all night and Norahs friend with benefits.Nick and Norah brings the audience along for the ride, which is generally mellow and cool.
