Nine vie for two council vacancies

FRISCO – Nine Frisco residents, including former town clerk Deb Helton, are gunning for two vacant seats on the town council.

“I thought we would have three or four. I was overwhelmed by nine. I thought that was wonderful,” Mayor Dede Dighero-Tuso said.

The candidates are Jim Skvorc, Dennis Hobbs, Tony Petersen, Jeff Baum, Gary Runkle, John Darnow, Julie Lawless Huyler, Jim Wheeler and Helton.

The existing council members will interview the candidates at their Dec. 9 work session and will select two at the council meeting that evening.

The seats became vacant when Mayor Bob Moscatelli and Councilmember Tom Connolly resigned during a fray over the council’s health benefits.
