No Barriers ‘What’s Your Everest?’ for blind, disabled hikers comes to Estes Park Aug. 12

With Erik Weihenmayer, there’s no such thing as impossible.

On Aug. 12, the Colorado native and first blind man to summit Mount Everest invites fellow disabled adventurers to the annual No Barriers “What’s Your Everest?” event in Estes Park. A full weekend of outdoor activities and inspirational speakers begins with breakfast at 7 a.m., then continues with a hike to Storm Pass. The day ends with a social hour and celebration at Dao House in downtown Estes. The best part: Weihenmayer will be right there on the trail to hike alongside fellow blind and other disabled hikers.

Registration for the event is based on fundraising. All participants are expected to raise at least $250 with help from friends, family and other team members. Fellow fundraisers are also invited to join on the hike. To register or learn more, see the “events” tab at
