No brainwashing occurring in Skvorc’s American history class

I am a 17-year-old junior at Summit High School and I am in Mr. Jim Skvorc’s American history class.

Never once has Mr. Skvorc ever expressed his opinion on war, government or anything else, let alone brainwash us.

He does make it clear it’s OK for students to have our own opinions and yes, we do express opinions in his classroom.

Mr. Skvorc never throws in his ideas to change our minds.

Mr. Skvorc wrote a letter to the editor opposing the war. Everybody is entitled to an opinion, no matter their professions. There is a huge, thick line between someone’s career and their life.

Does one man really have the power to brainwash hundreds of students? What’s brainwashing, anyway? I believe every person makes up his or her own mind about how they feel. Brainwashing is a myth.
