No damage from tornado warnings in eastern plains, snow in the high country

DENVER ” Severe thunderstorms prompted tornado warnings for at least eight counties on the eastern plains Friday, but officials said there were no confirmed reports of tornadoes or damage.

The National Weather Service issued warnings for Arapahoe, Elbert, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties.

A spring storm system moving into Colorado was expected to dump up to a foot of snow in the high country by Sunday.
