Nominations sought for Ice Melt Ice Princess

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT
Summit County, CO Colorado

Nominations are being taken for Dillon Ice Melt Ice Princess sponsored by the Summit County Rotary Club.

Princesses are nominated by local citizens and Rotarians to compete in a Chicago-style vote in which money counts: The one with the most money raised wins the crown.

The goal is to raise $5,000 for Summit High scholarships, specifically the “First Generation” scholarship that is a four-year program for students who are the first to attend college in their family.

This is intended as a fun fundraising event that enables the princesses and their primary sponsors to be known in our community and be recognized for their contributions.

Nominees must reside in or have principle place of employment in Summit County, they must be available for Ice Melt events, and they may have a sponsor organization such as a church, corporation or civic group, and matching funds are encouraged.

The princesses and their escorts are invited to the April 4 Ice Ball for the coronation ceremony and are given tickets to the ball worth $150 per couple.

Princesses are recognized in monthly Rotary Summit Daily News ads and on Krystal-93 radio spots, and photos are posted on http://dillonicemelt.com.

Nomination forms and rules are available on this website. Voting runs through March 28.
