NRO offerings for this week

BRECKENRIDGE ” The National Repertory Orchestra presents two concerts this week. Wednesday there will be an NRO Chamber Orchestra concert at the Riverwalk Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. The evening will feature soloists Andrea Belding on violin, Darby Bedell on violin, Joshua Modney on violin, Noah Luft-Weissberg on violin, and Charles Tyler on cello. The repertoire for this concert includes composers Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn and Beethoven.

Wednesday’s event is A Parents Night Out program, offered at the Breckenridge Recreation Center so parents can attend the concert. Childcare for children ages 5 through 12 will be provided from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $20 for the first child, $18 for each additional child. The first 15 families who register their children will receive free tickets to the evening’s performance. Contact the Breckenridge Recreation Center at (970) 453-1734 to make reservations.

On Saturday’s concert at the Riverwalk, the Mozart Piano Concerto No. 20 and Copland’s Third Symphony, which uses “Fanfare for the Common Man” as the theme for the last movement, will be featured. The National Repertory Orchestra welcomes Colorado Symphony Orchestra Music Director Jeffrey Kahane as guest conductor and soloist.
