O.J. should not flaunt his freedom

Janie MerickelBreckenridge

What a horror to see a smiling, seemingly happy OJ Simpson on the front page of my newspaper on Friday, June 16. While I guess it is your right to print anything you wish, it was certainly someone’s discretion to let such a long, lengthy somewhat glowing article lead Friday’s edition. Said differently while OJ Simpson getting “plastered” might seem like news to some, did it really merit such a place of honor, did we really have to be insulted with his shoe size, like he was some kind of pop culture role model? What’s next? An interview with David Berkowitz and his views about our great towns?Let’s face it, the vast majority of Americans believe O.J. Simpson got away with it, that he slaughtered the mother of his children and now is free to flaunt his tainted soul to all. It’s kind of disgusting that you would seek out such a man to deliver his opinions on any matter whatsoever.I hope and pray that the leaders of Al Qaida do not visit our Tiki bar for fear that those murderers will also receive such positive reporting. If I was an advertiser in Friday’s paper I would demand a refund. If I was an advertiser in Friday’s paper I would demand a refund.
