Obama lands in Denver to sign stimulus bill

DENVER (AP) President Barack Obama’s plane has landed at Buckley Air Force Base outside Denver as the president prepares to sign the sweeping stimulus package into law.Air Force One touched down at about 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.A motorcade will take Obama to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, where he will tour a solar panel installation to highlight the boost he hopes the measure will give to renewable energy.He then plans to sign the $787 billion stimulus bill at the museum.Vice President Joe Biden and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, a former U.S. senator from Colorado are with the president.Colorado Republicans plan a protest rally at the state Capitol to coincide with the signing.Obama will fly to Phoenix after signing the bill.
