Obama to visit Denver high school Monday

BRIGHTON ” Presidential candidate Barack Obama plans to appear at Mountain Range High School in Denver when he visits Colorado on Monday.

His campaign said Saturday that the free event is open to the public, although tickets are required. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

It will be Obama’s second trip to Colorado since the Democratic National Convention in August.

His wife, Michelle, is scheduled to appear at a voter registration rally Wednesday in the Boulder area.

On Saturday, the American Hunters and Shooters Association was holding a skeet shooting event in Brighton that the campaign said highlighted Obama’s support of the Second Amendment and hunting rights. Political analysts say Democrats are trying to make inroads with outdoorsmen.
