Memorial: Christoper Heidebrecht

December 9, 1962 – May 4, 2013

Keystone and Summit County have lost a great friend, mentor, manager, and athlete. On Saturday, May 4, 2013, Christopher A. Heidebrecht, lovingly known as “H”, lost his hard-fought battle with cancer, at home in Heritage Lakes, NJ with family and friends by his side. “H” was born on December 9th, 1962. As a youngster, he started his athletic life, and continued his love of sports throughout his life. He worked for more than 25 years in the ski industry, mostly at Keystone Resort for 19 years in a variety of management positions, including Director of Skier Services, Ski and Ride School Director, and Mahre Training Center Director. He continued his career when he moved to New Jersey eight years ago, also in the ski industry, at Mountain Creek Resort and Hidden Valley Club in Vernon, NJ. “H” traveled the world throughout his life and career and acquired numerous Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) training certificates and achievements. He will be greatly missed by many in the industry as well as by his friends and family. He was the husband of Shannon (O’Leary) Heidebrecht and the father of two daughters, Hana and Na Pali, brother to Shane Meeks of Rockford, MI, Robert Heidebrecht of Loveland, CO, Angie Ontjes of Hutchinson, KS. He was the son of Roger Meeks of Claremore, OK and Sandra Heidebrecht of Wichita, KS. A Memorial fund has been set up for his children.
