Anne “Nancy” Woodberry Sherman

Anne “Nancy” Woodberry Sherman, of Chelsea, Michigan, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at Towsley Village in Chelsea Retirement Community. She was the daughter of Ronald S. and Elsie (Carney) Woodberry, born Oct. 11, 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts. On June 8, 1957, she married George F. Sherman in Waban, Massachusetts, and he survives.

She had lived in Chelsea since 2010, moving from Colorado and the Washington, D.C., area. She was a wonderful, caring wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, hiking, reading, teaching and volunteering in the community. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children: Deborah (Sarah Drury) Sherman of Brooklyn, New York, Beth (Karen Hawver) Sherman of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Justin (Junko Onishi) Sherman of Washington, D.C., and Andrew (Danielle Epstein) Sherman of San Francisco, California; three grandchildren, Emma, Benjamin and Solomon; as well as one sister, Marie Roberts of Lexington, Massachusetts, and two brothers, Paul Woodberry of Sea Island, Georgia and Robert Woodberry of Lafayette, California.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at Silver Maples of Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arbor Hospice Foundation, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
