AUGUST GORDON MUSSAT July 23, 1978 – February 5, 2025. August was born in Jacksonville, IL to Leonard Mussat and Kathy (Wade) Mussat. He died on February 5, 2025 in Denver, CO, after struggling with heart failure.
August, known to his family as Augie, was an only child and grew up in a small rural town in Illinois west of the state capital, Springfield. He moved to Summit County about 9 years ago and loved being in the mountains. He had a gentle spirit and a good sense of humor.
August is survived by his two uncles, Robert Wade, and James Bradley Wade, and their families, including a few cousins. The family has planned for his cremains to be placed beside his father’s grave in Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, August 10th at Dillon Community Church.
