Obituary: Brian Douglas Wilson

October 5, 1951 – July 26, 2023

Long time Summit County resident passed away following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Born to loving parents, John and Phyllis Wilson in Wichita where he enjoyed an active and adventurous youth with his four siblings. After finishing his education, he moved to Colorado where he worked as a carpenter in the Evergreen area. In the mid ’70’s he reloacated to Summit County and joined in the family owned Blue River Inn, a locals favorite tavern at Farmer’s Korner. In the late ’80’s he started his successful home remodeling business, Blackhawk Ventures.
He had passion for SAAB autos, motorcycles, ’36 Buicks and pheasant hunting in western Kansas.
Brian is survived by his sister, Sister Marsha Wilson ASC, brothers Phil ( Lindy) and Patrick and his beloved nieces and nephews and his long time partner, Leslie Wilkins.
Preceding his death were his parents and brother Mark (Angel).
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at the Summit County Elks Lodge on September 30th from 1pm til 5pm.
