Curt Chase

October 3, 1922 – June 6, 2014

Longtime Aspenite and skiing legend Curt Chase, 91, passed away Friday, June 6, at his Silverthorne home. Born October 3, 1922, in Manchester, New Hampshire, he served in the 10th Mountain Division. He headed the Aspen/Snowmass ski schools as director for over 20 years.

Chase is survived by wife Betsy; children Sally Dunleavy (husband Glenn), Heidi Chase Mines and Jimmy Chase; grandchildren Ryan Smith (wife Jaime), Chip Dunleavy, Tommy and Laker Mines, and Tiffany Livingston (husband Chris); great-grandchildren Adger Smith, Ella and Ava Livingston; sister Carol Chase Fellows; brother Dave Chase; and godson Hector Dominguez.
