David Fernandez (60) of Springer, New Mexico passed away on the morning of October 9, 2024, in a room filled with people who loved him dearly. Dave was born in Springer, New Mexico, on October 16, 1963. He was a proud graduate of Springer High School, Class of 1981.

In 1986, Dave moved to Denver, Colorado, where he began his career as a meter reader for Denver Water. In 1995, he relocated to Dillon, Colorado, serving as the Head Caretaker of the Dillon Reservoir while raising his two daughters. After more than 25 years with Denver Water, he retired in 2011. Following his retirement, Dave returned to his hometown of Springer.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Louis Fernandez; his mother, Emily Fernandez; and his brothers, Tommy Ray and Louie Jr. He is survived by his sisters, Louise Vigil, Dolores Schnieder, Connie Proulx, and Patricia Martinez; his daughters, Amanda Danielson and Christine Fernandez; and three grandchildren, James, Kyle, and Tyler Danielson.

He will be remembered as a loving father, protective brother, caring friend, friendly neighbor, and devoted Catholic.
