John Byerly

John Byerly, born Dec. 11, 1937, passed away Jan. 29, 2015, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Ginger, and is survived by his two sons, Mark and Matt, two grandchildren, Chelsea and Charlie, and numerous family in Iowa. John and Ginger were born and raised in Iowa and migrated to Summit County in the early 1970s as the owners of Byerly Construction Co. As a contractor John built many homes in the Dillon and Keystone areas over the years. Through their years the Byerlys were very active in the youth sports programs as their sons were outstanding soccer players and skiers. Their son Matt was a longtime member of the U.S. Nordic combined ski team, and John and Ginger were major supporters of the U.S. Nordic program. Aside from his contribution to the community, John was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Memorial services will follow in the spring in Wyoming.
