Mark Kromholz passed away Sept. 19, 2018. Born Dec. 21, 1954, in Amityville, New York, Mark graduated from Farmingdale University with a BA in Architecture, and Houston Community College with a Culinary Arts Degree. He moved from Long Island, N.Y. in 1977 to Houston, Texas where he met and married his wife of 33 years. In Houston, Mark owned and operated Rudyard’s, a popular punk bar in downtown Houston. He sold the business in 1993 and moved to Breckenridge, Colorado.
Mark led his life with passion and gusto and had life experiences that some only dream of having. He hitchhiked/backpacked across the United States in the mid-seventies, and backpacked through Europe in 1980. He used his culinary skills cooking at fine restaurants and delighting friends with delicious meals. Mark loved working out at the Silverthorne Rec Center and his hard work paid off in his mid-fifties when he medaled in body building competitions. He was known as a passionate music lover and audiophile.
He will be forever missed but never forgotten, especially by the love of his life, Bernadette.
A celebration of his life will be held on Oct. 7 from 4-6 p.m. at Raven Golf Club, located at 2929 N Golden Eagle Road, Silverthorne, CO 80498. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Doctor Perrinjaquet’s (Doc PJ) non-profit mission: Doctors to the World, P.O. Box 6879, Breckenridge, CO. 80424.
