I. Merritt Singer, Jr. was born August 28, 1931, in Corpus Christi, TX and passed away September 18, 2023. He is survived by his four daughters: Judith Burnham (Paul), Beverly Singer, Linda Blumberg (Richard), and Ginny Mendoza (Eddie); grandchildren, Robert Glenn II (Jessica)¸ Stephanie Burnham (Jordan Bauer), Merritt Burnham, Analia Mendoza and Jonathan Peters; and brother, Sam Singer. He is predeceased by his wife, Martha Singer; parents, Isaac M. and Sam Hurt Singer; and brother, Bill Singer. He graduated from Rice University, served 20 years in the US Navy Reserves, and worked 36+ years at E.I. DuPont de Nemours Co.
A gathering of Mr. Singer’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont.
