Obituary: James Robertson

James Mueller Robertson passed away near Golden on Nov. 22 at the age of 96. Jim lived in Aurora from 1997-2012, Silverthorne from 1982-1997 and Urbana, Ill., from 1954-1982 and 1916-1938. He passed away peacefully after a pleasant Thanksgiving dinner at the home of his nephew Forest Dillinger and his wife, Alice, also attended by Jim’s niece Cheryl Benton and her husband, John.

Jim was born to William Spence Robertson and Gertrude Mueller Robertson on April 18, 1916, in Champaign, Ill., and married Margaret Dillinger Robertson in Findlay, Ohio, on Oct. 23, 1943 (deceased Nov. 18, 2007). He is survived by his sons – Bruce Robertson married to Mary Ann; and Alan Robertson married to Lois Kraft; and grandchildren Brian Robertson, Brett Robertson and Claire Robertson-Kraft.

Jim was a professor at Pennsylvania State University from 1942-1954. He was also a professor at the University of Illinois from 1954-1982 and professor emeritus after retirement.



He was a member and president of Summit County Senior Citizens in Frisco, from 1983-1997; a member and chair of Area Agency on Aging-Skyline Six in Frisco, from 1986-1996; and a director, secretary and advisor of the Breckenridge Music Institute in Breckenridge, from 1984-2002.
