Joseph Brunner Neel, age 59 of Marked Tree, Ark., and Breckenridge, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Jan. 12, 2013. He is survived by his son, Patrick Joseph Neel; son-in-law, Matthew Taylor; two daughters Emily Neel Taylor and Rosemary Ann Neel; their mother, Kathleen Neel; brothers Robert “Tony” Neel of Little Rock, Ark., and Dr. Michael D. Neel of Memphis, Tenn., and countless friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Ann Brunner Neel and Robert T. Neel, Sr.

Joe was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He had recently retired from Breckenridge Resorts Trail Maintenance after 25 years of service and had previously been active in farming and the agricultural business in Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held in Breckenridge at a later date and a celebration of his life will be held in Arkansas sometime this spring.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.wounded

warriorproject.org) or Madonna Learning Center, 7007 Poplar Ave., Germantown, TN 38138.
