Oct. fundraiser planned for the Pineda Rosas family
September 29, 2009
SUMMIT COUNTY – A fundraiser to help offset the Pineda Rosas family’s medical and funeral expenses will be held Oct. 10 and 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Bryan Pineda Rosas, a 13-year-old eighth-grader, recently died from flu complications.
Volunteers will place tables outside the City Markets in Breckenridge and Dillon, and Safeway in Frisco to collect funds from locals and visitors for the family.
Cameron Laidlaw, whose children attended Upper Blue Elementary and the Summit Middle School with Bryan Pineda Rosas, is heading up the fundraising effort.
“He was a very kind and thoughtful boy,” Laidlaw said in an e-mail. “We will greatly miss him. … My family and I were thinking of ways to honor him and decided we are going to turn our tears into action.”
Laidlaw is currently seeking volunteers to collect funds at the three locations.
