Oltman nailed the Social Security issue

Hats off to Bob Oltman for his letter chastising Marc Carlisle for his Jan. 27 commentary in which he characterized senior citizens as “greedy.”I found it quite amusing that in his Feb. 3 weekly column that same day regarding Armstrong Williams, Carlisle made a strong case that “Columnists are supposed to have opinions, hopefully informed opinions.”Oltman’s exercise in math, cleverly done in simple terms so that Carlisle might understand it, devastatingly showed that Carlisle wasn’t even close in his allegations concerning what seniors have paid into Social Security and the relationship to how much we get out of it.This is not the first time that Carlisle has made allegations with either accidental to intentional distortion of facts. None should deny him his right to his opinion but he has an obligation to your readers to tell the truth. One radical CU professor spreading bitterness to the public in Colorado is enough.
