One can be better than two

Next Tuesday, May 2, an election will be held affecting residents of Keystone, Summit Cove and all other areas from Summerwood to Montezuma inclusively. The election is to decide on the inclusion of the Snake River Fire District into the Lake Dillon Fire District. For the past couple of years, the two have been operating very well as one under the interim entity of the Lake Dillon Fire Authority. If approved, the initial net effect on property taxes is nil. The administration of one fire district instead of two will reduce some red tape and be simpler. I can’t imagine anything negative about this consolidation. Please vote Tuesday at the Summit Cove Fire Station anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. There are only two ballot questions. One is to allow the inclusion; the other is to transfer the assets from Snake River Fire to Lake Dillon Fire. Both must be answered the same, either yes or no.Don’t let this be decided by just a handful. Please take a few minutes on Tuesday to vote and help show widespread support. Thank you.
