A car crashed near the gas station in Wildernest around 5:45 a.m. Thursday, according to Lt. Mike Schilling of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver got out of the car and fled on foot, but Schilling wrote that law enforcement caught them after a brief pursuit.

The car had three occupants, and two were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Deputies arrested one person due to a protection order violation, according to Schilling.
