One more adjective needed: ignorant

Disturbed, coward, spineless, punks. I’d like to add one more adjective to the growing list describing the person or persons who burned the flag on Peak 1 – ignorant.

The last line from the hand-written explanation that was left as to why the American flag was burned in protest was, “You can bomb the world to pieces but you can’t bomb it into peace.”

I would like to give that quote back to the man whom I believe was the first to use it. Michael Franti of the Spearheads is a man who does not propagate violence and destruction in the name of protest, nor would he run and hide in anonymity from those he disagrees with.

Listen harder to his music and what he says people. The quote above doesn’t encourage violent and destructive acts, it’s saying that acting in violence you are screwing it up for everyone.

With the ignorant act of destroying that flag, we, as a community, need to take pity on people so ignorant as to think that there would be anything positive gained towards ending war by their act.

I say let’s get another flag up there and remember why it got there in the first place.
