Optimists honor Summit High internship student

The Summit-Lake Dillon Optimist Club recognized Summit High School junior Hannah Sharr as the Intern of the Month at their November meeting. Sharr is serving her internship during the first semester at the Summit County Christian School. She was nominated by her mentors, Connie Moody and Rosa Edelmon.
“Hannah displays incredible maturity and stability. She is intuitive and quick to see what needs to be done. She is knowledgeable, wise and possesses great depth of understanding in all academic realms. In addition, she is a young lady of impeccable character,” Moody said. “Hannah has served our school in many ways. She has had the greatest impact by tutoring several students and coaching them in academics and life skills,” added Moody. “She is an exceptional role model in every way and for every age.”Sharr’s goal is to become a teacher.
“I love working with Summit County Christian school. I really enjoy working with the kids, and I am definitely pursuing a career in education,” she said. “My mentor has taught me a great deal and has really given me the freedom to try new and different things, so this experience has been excellent.”The Intern of the Month award is a collaboration between Summit High School and the Summit-Lake Dillon Optimist Club. The Optimist Club presents recognition plaques to an internship student and mentor each month.
