Outstanding students honored by Optimist Club

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORTSummit County, Colorado

On April 1, the Summit-Lake Dillon Optimist Club recognized an outstanding fifth- grade boy and girl from each of the elementary schools in Summit County. Students were chosen for their outstanding academics, extracurricular activities, school spirit, attitude and exemplary citizenship.Students recognized were: Alma Urrutia Sanchez and Ben Jorgenson from Dillon Valley Elementary; Krymson Hammond and Matt Arnold from Silverthorne Elementary; Olivia Patti and Gytis Pankevicius from Frisco Elementary; Scout Hodgson and Alex Mason from Upper Blue Elementary; Meagan Collins and Benjamin Torruco delos Santos from Summit Cove Elementary and Bridget OBrien and Peter Caamano from Breckenridge Elementary.Also recognized were four eighth-grade students from the Summit Middle School, based on their outstanding character, community service, academics, leadership skills, personal goals & growth. These students were: Kellie Cochran, Nolan Rookey, Madison Gross and Sean Farley.
