BRECKENRIDGE – Colder temperatures and plenty of skin decorated the 2007 Ullr Fest Parade Thursday on crowded Main Street Breckenridge. Ullr, along with a cold breeze, rolled through town with over 20 floats promenading, paying homage to the mythical Norse God of Snow. Thursday’s judges gave first place honors to Shredware’s Ullr Shack, shaking with music and guys sledding off the back of their float. Coming in a close second and third was Alpine Hair’s sexy rendition of Ullr getting a massage and the Travis Organization’s huge Ullr Head and bonfire on a flat-bed truck. This is the second year the Sean Travis Organization placed in the top three. A panel of over 10 judges ranked each float on creativity, theme and workmanship. Prize packages were donated by KSMT The Mountain, Budweiser, Breckenridge Ski Resort and the Breckenridge Resort Chamber.

Other parade highlights included the perennial crowd favorite, Good Times’ dogsledding team of Huskies, the traditional but unofficial Ullr gold underwear streakers, a red VW Bug carrying Ullr King and Queen, Sigurd and Carol Rockne, and plenty of creative Ullr characters. For more information on Ullr Fest, the Budweiser International Snow Sculpting Competition or Mardi Gras, contact the Breckenridge Resort Chamber at (970) 453-6018 or visit http://www.gobreck.com.
