Parenting seminar Tuesday

The Parents of Alternative Learners Support Group (PALS) will offer a free parenting seminar from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Summit School District administration building in Frisco (next to Summit Middle School).The title is “FLUENCY: Helping Our Kids Build and Maintain Skills in Math, Reading and Writing.” The speaker is Dr. Ray Beck, school psychologist and author, who will be doing a workshop for teachers on Wednesday. The program will focus on giving parents some tips on helping children who have difficulty with remembering certain skills over time, transferring basic skills to more difficult tasks and using basic skills across and in different situations. In addition, hints will be offered on parenting the sometimes challenging child who has social skills issues.
