Peak 1 Sept. 11 memorial flag most inspiring sight at sundown

I live just east of Peak 1 near Tiger Run. Not too long ago I happened to look at that mountain just after the sun went down behind it. What I saw was the most awesome sight I have seen in a long time.

With the sun just behind the mountain, the flag some great people had taken up there in memorial of Sept. 11 could be seen blowing in the wind and giving off a red glow.

The first time I saw this, I picked up my binoculars to get a better look and was very touched. A few days ago I was over by the County Commons at about sunset, and my wife told me to look at Peak 1.

The same view of the flag was there, but the red glow of the flag was much easier to see.

Thanks again to those who made the climb, both last year and this year. You are the best.
