Pearl Woods dies at age 96

Pearl “Annie” Woods, 96, a resident of Colorado Springs, died May 29.

She was was born in Texas on March 3, 1907 and spent her life devoted to her family, friends and those she treated during her years as a registered nurse in Summit County and Denver.

Her husband and soul mate, Hal “Pappy” Woods, and son, David Michael Woods, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son James Woods and daughter, Rosemary Mallory.

She also leaves behind an extended family that will miss her greatly. She was a very special lady who was deeply loved and respected by her family and friends.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs; phone: (719) 634-1597.

The funeral service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A reception will follow at the home of James and Marian Woods.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Annie’s memory to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbott Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905.
