FRISCO – The Frisco Recreation Open Space and Trails (FROST) Committee is hosting Frisco’s second annual Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, a chance to strike a blow to gas consumption while getting a free breakfast.FROST members encourage people who work in Frisco to ride their bikes to work, stop by the Frisco Recreation Building at 110 Third Ave. between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for breakfast and to register for prizes.The business with the largest percentage of employees who ride their bikes to work and register at the Recreation Building will be awarded the Silver Spoke.June is Colorado Bike Month. Bike Month promotes bicycling for transportation and increased safety awareness.Using a bicycle for one 10-mile trip saves gasoline and avoids the production of .328 pounds of carbon monoxide.Frisco’s Bike to Work event is also sponsored by the town, Rocky Mountain Coffee Roasters, KSMT-The Mountain and the Summit Recycling Project.Raffle prizes are provided by High Country Designs, Mountain River Naturopathic Clinic, Moose Jaw, Silverheels at the Ore House, McDonald’s, Tuscato, Frisco Dental, Wilderness Sports, Frisco Bay Marina, Rocky Mountain Coffee Roasters and Pioneer Sports.For information about Colorado Bike Month, visit the Bicycle Colorado website at http://www.bicyclecolo.org.For more information on Frisco’s Bike to Work Day, contact Jocelyn Mills at (970) 668-5276, ext. 3031 or e-mail jocelynm@townoffrisco.com.
