Pennsylvania Mine tour Friday

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

The Blue River Watershed Group will conduct a field trip to the Peru Creek area and the Keystone Science School Friday, Sept. 10, for local Rotarians and other interested parties. The trip will provide information on several proposed mine-remediation projects. Attendees will get a chance to see the Pennsylvania, Delaware, and the Silver Spoon mines. The staff of the Keystone Science School will present a demonstration of water quality analysis in Peru Creek.

The group will meet at the Keystone Science School cafeteria, 1628 St. Johns Rd., at 12:15 p.m., and a lunch will be served. After a short briefing about the mine sites, the group will proceed in vans to the Pennsylvania Mine location.

Space is limited. The tour is free, but there will be a fee for lunch. Please call Steve Swanson at (970) 485-5518 for further information.
