When people think about summer in the Colorado High Country, it is not uncommon for them to think about the runoff that comes off the astounding peaks and makes its way to the state’s network of mighty rivers. 

The high flows provide premier outdoor recreation opportunities for the majority of the summer season with locals and visitors alike getting out on the water to fly-fish, stand-up paddleboard and raft. 

Located in the heart of downtown Breckenridge, Performance Tours Rafting is Breckenridge’s first  whitewater rafting company. Since its inception in 1986, founders Kevin Foley and Mary Jo Foley have made sure that their rafting company provides guests with caring service and unforgettable adventures on Colorado’s whitewater. 

To this day, Kevin and Mary Jo Foley are still actively involved with the day-to-day operations, working alongside their daughter, Kathryn, who serves as Performance Tours Rafting’s general manager and their son, Dan, who is a seasoned professional raft guide.  

Their hard work landed them the award of Best Outdoor Adventure Company in the 2024 Best of Summit contest.

With secondary locations in Frisco, Buena Vista and Canon City, Performance Tours Rafting provides half-day and full-day rafting trips for all ages, abilities and desires. In Summit County specifically, Performance Tours Rafting provides seasonal trips down the Blue River when river conditions allow.

Performance Tours Rafting also provides rafting trips through Brown’s Canyon, The Numbers and Bear Creek in Buena Vista and Royal Gorge and Bighorn Canyon near Canon City.

Beyond providing memorable rafting trips through some of Colorado’s vast network of rollicking rivers, Performance Tours Rafting also takes great pride in its professional river guides. Not only are the guides at Performance Tours Rafting dedicated to delivering a fun, worthwhile and memorable guest experience, but they are seasoned veterans on the river who have become known for guest safety.
