Philanthropic nominations sought

BRECKENRIDGE – The Summit Foundation is accepting nominations to recognize outstanding philanthropy in Summit County.To obtain a nominating form, call the foundation office at (970) 453-5970 or e-mailsumfound@colorado.net.Completed nomination form(s) should be received in the foundation office, 108 N. French St., P.O. Box 4000, Breckenridge, no later than noon Friday.”It gives us great pleasure to recognize individuals, organizations, businesses and corporations for the time and money contributed to the causes of their choice,” said Marilyn Hogan, president of the foundation’s board of trustees.”Now, more than ever, it is so important to honor the vital role that donors, volunteers and nonprofit organizations play in creating and sustaining a healthy community for our residents and visitors,” she said.Since the inception of the program in 1991, 115 individuals, organizations and businesses have been recognized for their outstanding philanthropic efforts in Summit County.Winners in 2002 included Doug Schwartz, Angie Carlevato, John Daisy, Beth Koran, Amy Machin-Ward, Tom Hart, Bob French, the House with the Red Door and Prudential O’Brien & Associates Inc. Real Estate.Awards will be presented in nine categories: outstanding philanthropist, outstanding volunteer, outstanding board member, outstanding citizen, outstanding youth, outstanding professional in a nonprofit organization (“seasoned” and “novice”), outstanding educator, outstanding business and outstanding nonprofit/community organization.All award recipients will be honored at a Nov. 21 reception sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank at Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center.
