BRECKENRIDGE ” Grace Boyle, a summer Breckenridge resident, wanted to say something positive about America. In her photo book, “How to Live Like a King In America,” she features her own Cavalier King Charles spaniel named Andy, along with his brown Labrador friend.

“Can you think of anything more upbeat than dogs?” Boyle said. “It doesn’t matter if you’re far left or far right, a dog will put his head on your lap and love you and be loyal to you.”

Boyle, who lives most of the year in California, has been a writer her whole life, working for newspapers, and ad agencies. She said she prefers the creative end.

“I am pretty much retired now, and wanted to start writing some books,” Boyle said.

“How to Live Like a King in America” features many photos taken along Breckenridge trails.

Boyle and her dog, Andy, will be at Hamlet’s Book Shoppe in Breckenridge on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. for a book signing.
