Pilates & fitness in Dillon
Q: What type of business do you operate – what do you sell, or what service do you provide? A: Rejuvenations Mind+Body Fitness is a Pilates and fitness studio offering private Pilates instruction and group classes in Pilates equipment, Pilates mat and the Xtend Barre Workout. Pilates is a form of exercise, developed by Joseph Pilates, which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient patterns of movement. The Xtend Barre Workout is a fast-paced, 55-minute full body workout that fuses dance, Pilates and sculpting exercises at the ballet barre. Xtend is based on Pilates principles with additional cardiovascular benefits. Rejuvenations is currently the only studio in Colorado offering the Xtend Barre Workout.Q: Where are you from, why did you decide to open your business in Summit County? A: I am originally from Maryland, where I started my Pilates training, and have lived in Summit County for five years. I taught Pilates around the county for a few years, and then found that the time was right to open my own studio.Q: What experience do you have in this field?A: I am certified in Pilates apparatus and matwork through the New York-based PhysicalMind Institute, with a concentration in rehabilitation of injuries. I have been very pleased with my training, its concentration on physical therapy principles and applying that training to extremely active Summit County clients. Q: What sets your business apart?A: At Rejuvenations we offer our clients a chance to find a more meaningful connection between their mind and body as they move. You may feel taller, leaner and stronger, but most remarkably, more alive when you leave a session. Our goal at Rejuvenations is to give each client a fun, safe, effective workout – changing the body one session at a time. Q: What types of customers do you hope to reach in Summit County?A: One of the best things about the Pilates method is that it works so well for a wide range of people. Both men and women love it, as well as athletes, dancers, seniors, both pre- and post-natal mothers, and people who are at various stages of physical rehabilitation. My ultimate goal in teaching Pilates is to help my clients achieving optimal health – a sound mind and body.Q: What are your plans for your company’s future?A: Since Pilates is so beneficial for everyone, I hope to bring Joseph Pilates’ teachings to as many people in the county as possible. What I love about Pilates is that it is life long learning for both student and teacher. I strive to keep Pilates interesting and fresh to all my students and aspire to be the best instructor that I can be.
