‘Pink Floyd Show’ returns to Silverthorne

SILVERTHORNE ” The Sons of Nothing Pink Floyd tribute band will play the Silverthorne Pavilion on Friday, March 9. Music starts at 8:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.
The band’s re-creation of the classic Floyd sound is augmented by visuals including films once employed by the Floyd’s own Mr. Screen,” CGI effects and the band’s own flair for the theatrical.
Last year, Sons of Nothing performed Pink Floyd’s 1973 opus “Dark Side Of The Moon” at the Pavilion. This time they plan to widen their focus, playing a range of songs that cover the entire 40-year span of the Floyd’s career — from early space-rock jams like “One Of These Days” and “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun” to FM radio staples such as “Money,” “Comfortably Numb” and “Wish You Were Here.”
Bassist Thom Bowers started the band which now includes guitarist Tim Hollinger, keyboardist Matt Meldrum and drummer Daryn Campbell. Along with their tributes, the Sons of Nothing write and record original music in a similar progressive rock vein. Their third CD, “Clarity,” was released in July of 2006 and the Friday concert will include two songs from this new album.
