Police officers to help Special Olympics

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

The 2005 North American Police Ski Championships will be held Tuesday through Saturday at Copper Mountain. This annual police ski competition features head-to-head competition of the best police ski racers in North America and beyond. A very special part of this event is an on-going fund raising effort for the winter sports programs of Special Olympics International. To date, more than $400,000 has been raised. An auction will be held during the week, and on Saturday, Special Olympians will join the police racers for an afternoon of skiing.Police officers from 65 law enforcement agencies from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom will be participating.
