Police walk across street to bust burglary suspect

The Associated Press

GRAND JUNCTION – Grand Junction police didn’t have to go far to arrest a burglary suspect on Sunday.

Officers were about to start a daily briefing when they were called to handle a reported crime across the street from the police station. An off-duty officer reported a suspicious person and police arrived within minutes, walking across the street.

Michael May was jailed on suspicion of felony theft from auto, attempted theft from auto and possession of burglary tools.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel (http://tinyurl.com/9nsvfgb ), there were plenty of witnesses. Police said their dispatchers saw the action outside their second-floor windows.
