Post Office needs to deliver to homes

Now that gasoline is $4 per gallon, have our city fathers, or whoever is responsible, given any thought to requesting that the post office provide mail delivery to all of the citizens of Summit County?

I must travel 42 miles per week to pick up my mail, which translates into more than $500 per year in gasoline expenses. That does not take into consideration the wear and tear on my auto nor the time and inconvenience. Multiply my costs to the hundreds of households in our county, and you realize what a waste of time, energy and total expense is involved in just picking up our mail. It is staggering! Can anything be done to change this situation?
