Power trio hits Summit County

by Kimberly Nicoletti

Where’d the name come from? Holden Young; its kind of a Colorado thing.Home base: BoulderWho are you? A power-trio of funk, rock and world rhythms. We are a collaborative effort of musicians trying to reach our goal of self-sustainability and pure American independence. If your music were a tangible item? We probably wouldn’t do it or have to chase it around the country so much. Why do people love ya? Because we are earnest, fresh and constantly reinventing our sounds. How do you keep it fresh? We have done some challenging things in order to keep our sound fresh. We covered the entire “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers last winter and still play some of those songs. What’s the craziest thing you’ve done/weirdest experience? Once when we were driving to a gig in Moscow, Idaho we saw a guy on a bicycle. He was very sunburned and wearing overalls and became very excited when he saw us coming down the road. He started waving at us so hard that he fell off his bicycle. Just one of the strange things you might find on the back roads of America.
