Public invited to hearing on Park County judges

Since 1988, Colorado has had the benefit of a citizen commission to study judges’ performance and to make recommendations as to whether or not a judge should be retained on the bench. This year, in the 11th Judicial District which covers Chaffee, Custer, Fremont and Park Counties, four judges are up for review: District Judge Charles M. Barton, District Judge Julie G. Marshall, Park County Judge Stanley J. Mayhew and Custer County Judge Peter F. Michaelson.Public input about the judges is solicited in a variety of ways, including public hearings. The 11th Judicial District Performance Commission has scheduled the following hearing in Park County on May 4 at 9 a.m. at the Fairplay Town Hall. Anyone wishing to share their comments with commission members about any of the above-listed judges is invited to attend.For more information, contact Lynette M.
