Put that town-owned land to public use

Tony FlitcraftFrisco

The Ten-Acre Petition Project (TAPP), regarding the town-owned 9.4- acre parcel of land behind Safeway, must be about the umpteenth referendum initiated to settle Frisco’s problems in the decade I’ve lived here.We seem to have a true democracy wherein the people make all the important decisions around here.It makes me wonder why we elect a mayor and town council, pay salaries to them and their staffs, and hire a town manager to conduct Frisco’s business, only to have the people make the decisions. What’s wrong with this picture?Could it be that the town government taxpayers are financing is more interested in expanding its tax base than fulfilling the needs of those who put them there?Come on, folks. Let government take care of public business, and private enterprise take care of itself. Put that town-owned land to public use.
