Radio stations K-CMV, KSMT will be giving monthly scholarships
K-CMV “Colorado’s Mountain Voice” and KSMT “The Mountain,” in conjunction with The Summit Foundation, are proud to present an inaugural monthly scholarship program for area high school students. The scholarship program starts this month, December, and will continue through May 2008. K-CMV and KSMT are looking for exceptional high school seniors that give their time to the community.The K-CMV Community Connection Scholarship is designed to reward seniors in Summit, Grand, Routt, Moffat and Eagle Counties for their community service. Each month, December-May, we will award $1,063 to an exceptional senior who has made a difference in the community. In addition, K-CMV will be awarding one graduating senior in the K-CMV listening area with a $5,000 Agricultural Studies Scholarship to a community-minded student studying Agricultural Studies, Veterinary Medicine, Ranching or Forestry. Also, a $2,500 K-CMV Vocational Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior pursuing additional education for a vocational or technical career. The KSMT Community Connection Scholarship is a new monthly scholarship for Summit High School Seniors that have a commitment to the community. Each month, December-May, KSMT will award $1,021 to an exceptional Summit High School Senior that makes a difference in the community. In addition, KSMT will be awarding one student with a $2,500 KSMT Vocational Scholarship to a graduating Summit High School Senior pursuing education for a vocational or technical career and a $3,000 KSMT Communications Scholarship to a student pursuing a communications degree.Students can apply by visiting their counseling office or downloading the application online at kcmvradio.com or ksmtradio.com.
