Randy Udall to address county’s green building group tonight


Randy Udall, director of the Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) in the Roaring Fork Valley, will address the Summit County Green Building Group at 6 p.m. today at the Summit County Community and Senior Center.The public is invited to attend. Udall will talk about his group’s work with solar energy and a renewable energy mitigation fund that requires new homes to mitigate their energy use impacts.Udall has done extensive research into potential effects of climate change and what can be done to improve energy efficiency for buildings and transportation to lessen their impacts on the climate.Udall’s appearance will kick off a monthly speaker series designed to educate local residents about sustainability and energy efficiency.The Summit County Green Building Group is an organization of citizens striving to promote awareness, education and legislative change to advance sustainable design, construction and operation of buildings.
