Range reopens Aug. 13

SUMMIT COUNTY – The county’s Public Shooting Range is closed through Aug. 12 while improvements are put in place.The Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the 947th Engineering Company of the Army National Guard and several volunteers are cleaning up and renovating the range, which is located at the Summit County landfill. Range improvements will consist of cleaning up debris, grading the landscape, making drainage improvements, and increasing berm construction. Weather permitting, new benches and a backstop should be in place by Aug. 13.
